STOCKTON – San Joaquin County Superior Court Judge Cinda Fox is expected back to work soon, court officials said in a news release today detailing injuries she sustained Wednesday in an attack that left a murder defendant dead.
Fox sustained two stab wounds, one on her neck beneath her chin and the second on her left forearm near the elbow. She also suffered numerous scratches, scrapes and bruises, the news release says.
The stab wounds were stitched and she was released from the hospital the same day of the attack.
In the attack, murder defendant David Paradiso, 29, was on the witness stand when he stood up and lunged at Fox with a six-inch jailhouse shank he smuggled into the courtroom. Lodi Police Detective Eric Bradley shot and killed Paradiso.
